My name is Michael Benavdies and I’m a Sonoma County bankruptcy attorney. My goal is to make bankruptcy as easy as possible for my clients. I start by meeting with you for a free consultation. During the consultation I explain the differences between chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy. If bankruptcy is in your best interest I will give you a quote for representation. If you’re ready to move forward right away we can order a 3-source credit report and start the paperwork in my office. Even if you’re unsure whether you should file bankruptcy call me today at (707) 200-6688 for free advice over the phone.
You Deserve A Fresh Start
The Bankruptcy Code is part of Federal Law and is designed to give people like you a fresh start. By eliminating burdensome debt people can rebuild their credit, obtain financing and make purchases which keep our economy growing. If you’ve incurred debt you cannot repay you can turn to a Santa Rosa bankruptcy lawyer for a fresh start.
The First Step
Your path to debt relief begins by calling my office at (707) 200-6688 to schedule a free consultation. During your free consultation I can answer your questions and explore your debt relief options. There is absolutely no obligation to hire me by attending a free consultation. After I have answered your questions and recommended a course of action you can either retain my services or take some time to weigh your options. If you’re ready to move forward we can begin the paperwork right away. Also, I can begin to take your collection calls to keep the creditors off your back.
The Petition
I’m not a psychic so I will need some information from you. Specifically, you will need to complete my “Bankruptcy Workbook” which asks you basic questions about your assets, debts and transactions. Your answers will help me draft your bankruptcy petition, schedules and statements. After I have drafted the required documents you will sign 40-50 pages that will be filed with the court. Once your petition is filed I will notify any aggressive creditors of the automatic stay to ensure that no adverse collection action is taken during your bankruptcy.
Personal Representation
You will be represented during the meeting of creditors by an attorney. We don’t hire “appearance” attorneys to represent you like many larger firms. In practice, attorney Michael Benavides or I personally appear at the meeting of creditors and sit next to you during the whole process. In short, when you retain our firm you are ensuring that you will be personally represented by an attorney throughout your bankruptcy.
About Me
I practice consumer bankruptcy law in Santa Rosa, California. Unlike many larger firms I take a limited number of clients each month to ensure that I deliver personal representation. When you call my office you will speak with an attorney, not a paralegal or secretary. If you questions you will get answers from your lawyer right away. Better yet, I don’t charge $3,000 to represent you in chapter 7 bankruptcy like some other Sonoma County bankruptcy lawyers. My office makes every attempt to keep our fees affordable for Sonoma County clients. If we cannot offer a price that you can afford we can refer you to a more cost-effective bankruptcy lawyer.
